The phenomenon of relocation of suppliers is generating an increase in the demand for transportation services, which will influence this logistics sector to close the year with a double-digit growth both in the state and nationally, estimated the delegate in Queretaro of the National Chamber of Freight Transportation (Canacar), Miguel Angel Bres Garcia.
The demand for services, he said, is growing between 10 and 12%, even since this year, an increase influenced by the relocation of supply chains, coupled with the internal needs of the country.
In addition to these conditions, the Querétaro International Airport (AIQ) has become the third cargo terminal, said the cluster's vice-president.
In the first half of the year alone, AIQ transported 40,184.8 tons of cargo, an annual growth of 10%, according to the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT).
In general, the logistics industry is seeing an increase in the demand for services, due to the requirements of companies not only from Asia, but also from Europe, said Jorge Rodríguez y Rodríguez, vice-president of the Querétaro Logistics Innovation Cluster (CiLQRO).
He added that companies are coming to the state to bring their supply chains closer to the North American market.
